The Drin Dialogue which aims to establish a Shared Vision for the management of the extended Drin River Basin, was launched on December 1st 2009, at a meeting that took place in Podgorica. The Meeting was co-organized by UNECE, GWP-Med, the Government of Montenegro and MIO-ECSDE, with the financial support of the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency.
The Civil Society Dialogue on Mediterranean Processes: UfM Ministerial on Environment – Climate Change COP Copenhagen – Long Term Strategy on Water in the Mediterranean took place a few days ago on the 1st of November 2009 in Cairo, Egypt at the premises of the League of Arab States.

MIO-ECSDE in its commitment to keep up with the latest developments in the field of Nanotechnologies participated in an OECD Conference entitled “Potential Environmental Benefits of Nanotechnology: Fostering Safe Innovation-Led Growth” which was held in Paris, July 17-19, 2009.
In February 2009 MIO-ECSDE joined a participatory movement entitled Spring Alliance which has as its main goal to ensure that the European Union puts people and the planet first.
