This guide offers practical, replicable solutions for local communities to further the European Green Deal and serves as a first step for SHARED GREEN DEAL to engage with European, national, and local policymakers on achieving a Green Deal that is responsible, equitable, and desirable.
MIO-ECSDE contributed insights on biodiversity, emphasizing community learning’s role in countering biodiversity loss. More specifically, the biodiversity chapter showcases how community learning through Study Circles helped enhance engagement and understanding of biodiversity conservation in Greece, Ireland, Slovenia and Sweden, supporting local initiatives such as creating nature trails or hosting photography contests, to connect cultural values with ecological preservation. This approach enhances public understanding and inspires local actions aligned with the EU Green Deal’s biodiversity goals.
