More than 150 young activists came together from 9 to 10 October in Cairo in order to promote sustainable consumption in the Euro-Mediterranean region.
The two-day event, took place in the general framework of UNESCO/UNEP’s initiative “Youth X Change” and targets a mixed audience of youth, trainers, teachers, as well as media and local authorities.
The participants were introduced to the YXC kit that supplies youth with simple tips in an appealing way on sustainable consumption behaviors and responsible consumer choices. The kit was recently adapted to the realities of the Mediterranean Arab countries and was published in Arabic.
The Egyptian events are part of a series of events in Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Syria and Tunisia within the initiative undertaken by MIO-ECSDE and 6 partners from the Mediterranean, with the support of the ALF and the EU.
More than 150 young people, trainers, teachers, as well as media and local authorities took part during the 2 day launching events in Cairo, aiming to promote sustainable consumption. The philosophy of the project can be distilled in the phrase “a different world is possible, because of my diversified choices”.
