MIO-ECSDE member LEF is helping Lebanon fight for a Plastic-free Mediterranean

The European Union is supporting the MIO-ECSDE member organisation Lebanese Environment Forum (LEF), together with the Lebanon Eco Movement, for two years with a grant of €995,000 to:

• Tackle the sources of marine pollution and its impact on the marine ecosystems and the livelihoods of those populations living from the sea
• Raise the awareness of the Lebanese citizens on marine litter
• Contribute to change national policies and legislations

This grant will also finance smaller grants to community-based organisations, start-ups and municipalities. The main purpose will be to address the causes and the impacts of marine litter.
