AQUA 2010, 22-23 October, Athens, Greece

AQUA 2010 is co-organized for the 4th time by MIO-ECSDE, GWP-Med, the University of Athens and LEADER EXPO on 22-23 October 2010, in Paiania, Athens. The conference is organized in conjunction with the parallel Leaderexpo exhibitions: Envirotech ΄10 (6th International Exhibition on Water and Environment Technologies) and Photovoltaic ‘10 (5th International Exhibition on Energy).

Water is one of the most valuable and vulnerable natural resources on Earth. This is especially true for the Mediterranean. Increasing water demand, coupled with the looming climate change threat, makes the problem of water scarcity of critical importance. Hence, there is an urgent need to enhance water efficiency and to explore alternative innovative approaches that will ensure water availability.

The first session (Friday, 22 October 2010, 16:00-19:00) will focus on the “Alternative water resources in the Mediterranean”.

The second session (Saturday, 23 October 2010, 09.00 – 13.00) will focus on the issue of “Water and human rights in the framework of Education for Sustainable Development”.
