Training for Green Events in the Mediterranean, 23-24 Nov 2010

MIO-ECSDE staff members participated in an interactive training focusing on how to plan, implement and evaluate sustainable events. The training was organized by the Regional Activity Centre for Cleaner Production (CP/RAC) in collaboration with the non-profit organization Cooperativa Barcelonya and in support of the H2020 CB/MEP. The training was held in Barcelona, on 23-24 November 2010.

The main objectives of the training were to:

  • Evaluate the environmental, social and economic impacts of hosting events;
  • Identify opportunities and barriers to organising a sustainable event;
  • Enable participants to plan, implement and evaluate a sustainable event for your organisation;
  • Enable participants to implement a communication strategy to maximise the impact of a sustainable event.

This training and the knowledge gained will be used by MIO-ECSDE as a starting point towards the organization of “greener” and more sustainable events.
